PBS station at WKU wins Emmy awards

Western Kentucky University did not go home empty-handed at the 54th Annual Ohio Valley Emmy Awards.

The university’s PBS station received four Emmys.

The station’s series, Lost River Sessions, was recognized with Emmy awards in two categories. 

In the Arts/Entertainment-Program category, Darius Barati, Neil Purcell, Kelli Brock, and Jeff Petrocelli accepted awards for their collective work on the show. In the craft category of Lighting, Barati was also recognized with an award.

Meanwhile, David Brinkley, the director of public broadcasting at WKU, was inducted into the Silver Circle, one of the highest honors given by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
