9-Year-Old Killed In Sledding Accident

A Tennessee community is in mourning after the death of a 9-year-old boy, killed when the snow tube he was riding as he was being pulled by an ATV slammed into a mailbox. WSMV's Forrest Sanders reports.

(WSMV/NBC News) — A 9-year-old boy is dead after a sledding accident in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Police said the 9-year old was riding on a tube along with three other children while being pulled by an ATV driven by the boy’s father. The tube, while sliding through the snow and ice, collided with a mailbox . The child was taken to Vanderbilt hospital where he died of his injuries.

The other three children on the tube were not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
