5th annual Toys for Tots motorcycle run Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The 5th annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run is tomorrow, starting at Doug’s Motor City Bar and Grill. 

All riders and bikes are welcome. The entry fee is a $20 donation per bike or a new, unwrapped toy. They expect around 100 bikes to participate in a 120 mile loop around Southern Kentucky. It usually takes the riders around two hours, and they’ll be escorted by the Templar Knights MC. 

There will be Harley Davidson items and a gift card raffle at the event. 

The donations will go towards purchasing gifts for less fortunate children this Christmas. 

“It’s so wonderful seeing the families come in to pick up the toys a couple of weeks before Christmas. They’re always very appreciative. Sometimes they bring the children with them which is great. We have a Sgt. (Santa) Clause which interacts with them here in Warren County at our North Pole where the families get the toys,” said Toys for Tots coordinator Janel Doyle. 

Toys for Tots serve nine counties in Southern Kentucky. Last year, they helped 7,446 children’s Christmas be a little brighter. 

“It’s just a wonderful, heartwarming experience knowing that those children are going to have a Christmas because of the generosity from our community,” said Doyle. 

Doyle said she thinks they will have a good turn out and the weather looks like it will be great for the motorcycle riders.
