58-year-old man charged after reported stabbing in Floyd County

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – One man is facing charges after a reported stabbing involving another man in Floyd County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers received a call Monday regarding an assault in the Prestonsburg community of Floyd County.

Authorities say they responded to a residence on Right Fork Home Branch, where they located Joy Jervis of Prestonsburg with multiple stab wounds to the chest and arm.

Troopers say as a result of an investigation, 58-year-old Eddie Dmitruk of Prestonsburg was taken into custody and lodged at the Floyd County Detention Center.

Dmitruk is currently charged with first-degree assault.

The investigation remains ongoing.
