Update: 2 suspects in Franklin shooting charged with attempted murder
FRANKLIN, Ky. – Additional details have been released after a reported shooting in Simpson County resulted in two arrests.
According to the Franklin Police Department, officers responded to 4391 Nashville Road to a shots fired complaint at 3:09 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police say they learned two shots were fired from a suspect into a vehicle.
Detectives say the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. Authorities say no one was injured during the shooting.
FPD’s preliminary investigation identified 25-year-old Iranyibutse Simon and 23-year-old Abdulwasah Abdulkader, both of of Bowling Green, as suspects in the incident.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Simon and Abdulkader.
FPD says detectives were notified at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday afternoon that Simon and Abdulkader were arrested by the Bowling Green Police Department.
Both are charged with first-degree wanton endangerment-discharge of a firearm, attempted murder-domestic violence and attempted murder.
