Working toward next steps, Warren County comes together

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After destructive flooding, city and county government are working around the clock to push clean up, mitigation and secure funding for assistance.

After five days of consistent rainfall bringing almost 11 inches of water to the already weather inundated Warren County and surrounding areas. The karst topography of Warren County is a great benefit to not only the natural beauty of the area but the drainage capabilities as well, however they are all near full after recent weather events and the most recent storm took the caves over the edge.

With the caves not fully drained of water and the ground still retaining some moisture, the added rainfall caused roads to close and flooded homes that now local government is trying to reopen and rehabilitate.
