Woodbury lock and dam here to stay

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – The county judge-executive just reported that after a public meeting along with the American Corps of Engineers, Woodbury’s lock and dam will not be removed, thanks to concerns from residents.
The land has been deemed to have no historical value but that doesn’t stop people from becoming attached and forming great memories, nor did it hurt for people to bring up environmental concerns. According to farmers in the past, the engineers removing mechanisms has contributed to loss of property.
For now, the dam will remain for the foreseeable future.
