Woodburn Fire Department orders new engine to replace 36-Year-Old Truck

WOODBURN, Ky. (WNKY) — The Woodburn Fire Department is getting a new fire engine.
According to a social media post Friday, the department has ordered a Pierce fire engine that is expected to be completed by September. The new apparatus will replace Engine 54, a 1990 International 4900 that has been serving the Woodburn community for more than three decades.
Officials say the engine will be built at the Pierce Manufacturing facility in Bradenton, Florida. The department thanked Atlantic Emergency Solutions for helping design the new engine and working with fire officials throughout the purchasing process.
Fire officials plan to share updates as construction of the engine progresses. Once completed, the apparatus will be placed into service for residents of the Woodburn Fire District and Warren County.
Founded in 1962, Woodburn Fire Department is made up of volunteers and serves nearly a 50-square-mile area of southern Warren County, Kentucky.
