Women’s Leadership Conference gathers in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of women in power from all over Kentucky gathered Tuesday for a conference in Bowling Green.

The Women’s Leadership Conference, presented by SHE●OLOGY, was hosted at the National Corvette Museum. Seven total female leaders spoke at the event, according to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.

These included first lady Britainy Beshear, who spoke about family welfare and children rights advocacy. In addition, the audience heard from Dr. Vicki Phillips, CEO, Center for Education and the Economy, Miss Kentucky 2023 Mallory Hudson, author, business coach and podcaster April Scipio, Bowling Green High School 11th grader Kaidence Dunagan, Warren East High School 11th grader Bailey Locke and Warren Central High School 12th grader Marie Manirakiza.

The event aimed to “empower, enlighten and engage” women while encouraging them to make a positive change in their business worlds.

“Too often, women are our own harshest critics, and we judge ourselves against an impossible standard,” the first lady said. “Instead, I hope every woman who attends this conference finds strength in being exactly who you are.

The theme this year, “Perfectly Imperfect,” was the focus of several of the speeches given this afternoon.
