With the transition from winter to spring comes the risk for springtime thunderstorms which means there’s plenty of lightning strikes to go around so it’s important to bring awareness to lightning safety. According to the National Weather Service, lightning strikes the U.S. about 25 million times a year. Although the odds of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 600,000, practicing safety significantly reduces those chances.
