WKU volleyball coaches Hudson and Bere suffer lower leg injuries

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Lady Hilltopper volleyball team is coming off a two-game series sweep against UTEP over the weekend, and those wins came without head coach Travis Hudson or assistant coach Craig Bere who were unable to make the trip out to Texas.

Last week, Hudson and Bere suffered injuries while playing in a volleyball league. Hudson suffered a Lisfranc fracture and Bere an Achilles tear that both require surgery.

Hudson shared an update this week about the injury and how things could look a little different now ahead of WKU’s game with New Mexico State and in the weeks to come.

“It’s creating a pretty interesting dynamic here as we wind down the season,” Hudson said. “It’s what kept us from traveling last weekend, obviously, and surgery is on Wednesday of this week. The next two weeks will be pretty touch and go depending on how we’re feeling, but it’s pretty significant injury, so it’ll be real touch and go for a couple of days, a few days.”
