WKU students, nonprofit to provide free medical care at pop-up clinic
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some Western Kentucky University students are doing their part in giving back to the community with an upcoming clinic.
On Aug. 26 and Aug. 27, WKU students are partnering with nonprofit Remote Area Medical to host a health clinic to provide free dental, vision and other medical care to those in our community who are under or uninsured.
Emily Anne Pride Sutton, the advisor for the WKU Student Rural Health Association, says at least 150 local volunteers will treat at least 250 patients per day.
To visit the clinic, head out on the above dates to the Bowling Green Independent School District Bowling Green Learning Center.
If you want to help assist the clinic, WKU/AHEC SRHA and WKU RAM are seeking both monetary donations and assistance from providers to help provide services. Volunteers are also needed for preparations and cleanup for dental, medical and optical care, according to Sutton.
If you are interested in supporting this event, you can reach Sutton through her staff number at 270-745-2193.
