WKU Player of the Week: softball pitcher Erica Houge
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For this week’s WKU Player of the Week, we look back on a dominant opening weekend from sophomore pitcher Erica Houge.
If you thought she was lights-out as a freshman, you shouldn’t be shocked by the numbers from her first few games.
In 16.2 innings of work, Houge kept any runs from crossing home plate, preserving a zero ERA.
Opposing hitters had a combined batting average of .153, striking out 16 times.
In Friday’s matchup with UNC Greensboro, Houge set a new personal best with seven strikeouts in one game.
Three starts and three shutouts later, Houge has helped the Hilltoppers to a 4-1 start, and they’ll look to keep up the hot start this weekend.
