WKU Player of the Week: Hilltopper soccer midfielder Georgia Liapis

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This Wednesday, the WKU Player of the Week honor goes to Georgia Liapis.

The midfielder scored the game-winning goal this past Sunday in Western’s 1-0 victory over Jax State.

With her efforts in the win, the Hilltoppers clinched the regular season title and locked in the No. 1 seed for the upcoming CUSA tournament.

Liapis is tied for the ninth-most goals in a single season for WKU and has scored the most since 2019.

The junior also leads the team in several categories including nine goals, 41 shots, 20 shots on goal and 20 points.

Finishing conference play with a 6-0-2 record, Liapis and the rest of the Hilltoppers will begin the conference tournament on November 2nd in Lynchburg, Virginia.
