WKU Player of the Week: Hilltopper baseball’s Dawson Hall

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week’s WKU Player of the Week goes to Hilltopper baseball pitcher Dawson Hall.

Hall took to the mound on Saturday afternoon on the road against No. 17 Dallas Baptist, and helped the team hold the Patriots scoreless in route to a shutout victory of 11-0.

The seven-inning run-rule win did see the Topper bats plate double digit runs, but the boost the team found came from their starter, as Hall tossed six shutout innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Coming into the weekend, Dallas Baptist had the top scoring offense in Conference USA, but the righty from Bowling Green limited the Patriots’ production, allowing no runs in the series deciding game.

The win on Saturday led to the Tops being named No. 25 across many national ranking systems, including Baseball America and Perfect Game.

On the season, Hall is sporting a 0.82 ERA with a 5-0 record through 10 appearances (two being starts), and as the Hilltoppers prepare for another big series at Liberty this weekend, he will look to continue his dominance on the mound.

First pitch in Friday’s series opener in Lynchburg, Virginia, is set for 5 p.m. CT, and fans can watch the full series as it’s being streamed on ESPN+.
