WKU hosts annual Teddy Bear Toss; donations go toward Toys for Tots
BOWLING GREEN, Ky – Western Kentucky University’s men’s basketball team took the court against Tulsa on Friday night, but the action wasn’t limited to the game itself.
During halftime, fans packed E.A. Diddle Arena for the annual Teddy Bear Toss, a tradition that turns the midgame break into a charitable celebration.
Fans were encouraged to bring a toy or stuffed animal to donate, then throw it onto the court at halftime. Within moments, the hardwood was covered as teddy bears and plush toys rained down from the stands.
Active-duty Marines were on hand to collect the donated items, which will be delivered to Toys for Tots and distributed to children in need this holiday season.
While the Hilltoppers fell to Tulsa 82-81 at the buzzer, the night delivered a win off the court … bringing the community together to support a meaningful cause.
