WKU Hilltopper baseball transfer portal tracker

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s been nearly a month since the WKU baseball 2025 campaign came to close at the NCAA Oxford Regional, and since then, over half of the Hilltopper roster have entered the transfer portal.
WKU ended its season with a 46-14 overall record, which is the second-most wins in a season for the program, just behind the 47 wins of the 1980 team.
Following to the team’s loss to Ole Miss on May 31, that officially ended the Tops run in the postseason, activity in the portal quickly started to brew.
Below are significant updates in the NCAA Transfer Portal for the Hilltoppers:
IN THE PORTAL (as of June 13) – Aaron Robinson, Elliott Rossell, Joey Baran, Hunter Small, Luke Leverton, Luke Wright, Thomas Marsala, Miller Green, Tanner Mueller, Carlos Vasquez, Joe Seirvo, Dylan Oconnell, Caleb Marmo, Drew Barragan and Lucas Hartman.
June 5 – Dawson Hall (RHP) withdraws from the portal.
June 6 – Jack Bennett (RHP) commits to the University of Kentucky. After spending three seasons with WKU, Bennett will spend his senior year with the Wildcats who made their first College World Series appearance in 2024. Bennett had a 3.13 ERA in 63.1 innings pitched with 49 strikeouts in his final year with the Tops.
June 7 – Drew Whalen (RHP) commits to Auburn. The sophomore was named the CUSA Pitcher of the Year after striking out 9o batters on a 3.53 ERA through 81.2 innings pitched.
June 9 – Patrick Morris (LHP) commits to the Arizona Wildcats. Originally from Chandler, Arizona, Morris will be returning to his home state after posting a 1.11 ERA with 33 strikeouts 32.1 innings in his senior year on the Hill.
June 11 – Ryan Wideman (OF) commits to Clemson. On3 listed Wideman as one of the Top 10 players available in the transfer portal just last week after the junior broke records left and right for the Hilltoppers in the 2025 season. Wideman posted a .398 batting average with 10 homers, 68 RBIs and 45 stolen bases. The Georgia native spent one season on the Hill and was named the CUSA Player of the Year and CUSA Rookie of the Year.
June 11 – Evan Jones (RHP) commits to the University of Central Florida. Jones had a 3.18 ERA and 16 strikeouts through 11.1 innings pitched for the Tops this past season.
June 11 – Ethan Lizama (OF) commits to South Carolina. Lizama spent two seasons on the Hill being a top player for WKU. In his junior year, Lizama posted a .309 batting average and led the team with nine home runs in the 2024 season. For his senior year, Lizama topped that with a .336 batting average, 15 homers and 60 RBIs.
June 20 – Cal Higgins (LHP) commits to Texas. The senior spent three years at Western and recorded a 1.87 ERA with 52 strikeouts through 43.1 innings pitched in this past season with the Hilltoppers.
June 21 – Kyle Hvidsten (UTL) commits to Liberty. In his one year on the Hill, the junior slashed a .282 batting average with six home runs, 22 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
