In six seasons at WKU, Helton has led the Tops to a 48-32 record, with trips to six straight bowl games (four wins) and two Conference USA championship game appearances.
In Helton’s first season (2019), he brought home the C-USA Coach of the Year award, marking just the sixth time in program history for a Hilltopper coach to take the award, and first since Jack Harbaugh won the Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2000.
As the team begins a postseason transformation, with a higher number of players than normal entering the transfer portal, Helton will now get to work to bring together another exciting roster, with sights set on the 2025 C-USA championship crown.
