WKU commencement expected to create extra traffic Friday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU graduation is this week and motorists will see extended drive times.

WKU commencements are scheduled for all day Friday, May 3.

Officials with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 expect heavy traffic near WKU’s campus in the morning and afternoon. Additional traffic will occur near McNeill Elementary School located off University Boulevard and Creason Street during school drop off and pick up.

Motorists are asked to find alternate routes and to avoid driving areas near WKU.

Alternate routes include U.S. 231X/U.S. 68X University Boulevard, U.S. 68X Kentucky Street, U.S. 68 Adams Street, and U.S. 68 Russellville Road.

Message boards are in place to notify motorists.
