WKU Athletics Player of the Week: Kaylee Cox

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This week’s WKU Athletics Player of the Week honor goes to Hilltopper volleyball senior Kaylee Cox, following her performance in the Conference USA Tournament.

Cox earns her second player of the week award after her 3-match weekend saw 46 kills, 33 digs, and two blocks, and after she helped lead WKU to their second straight C-USA title, she was awarded the C-USA Tournament Most Valuable Player.

This performance came after Cox was named the Alyssa Cavanaugh Conference USA Player of the Year earlier last week, along with many other awards that were presented to her teammates and head coach Travis Hudson.

The Lady Tops finished the season on a 24-game winning streak, going unbeaten in conference play, and now after taking the crown of their league, they will enter the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season, and their 10th in the last 11 seasons.

WKU will learn who their opponent in the big dance is Sunday evening during the NCAA selection show, and the team will be awaiting that announcement at Overtime Sports Bar & Grill.

The public is encouraged to join the team as they find out where they’ll play next, with C-USA Tournament championship posters to be handed out to the first 100 fans and the event beginning at 4 p.m.
