WKU and JMU meet up for luncheon and pep rally before bowl game

Boca Raton, FL. – Just one day before the two programs meet at FAU Stadium for the 2024 Boca Raton Bowl, Western Kentucky University and James Madison University got together on Tuesday for a luncheon and pep rally.

The morning saw the Hilltoppers load their buses and head to the Palm Beach County Convention Center to meet up with the Dukes for food and fellowship.

Both head coaches spoke on stage about what the game means for their respective program, and additionally, a player from each team went on stage to answer the hard-hitting questions, such as ‘Who’s your celebrity crush?’.

After the conclusion of the luncheon, a selection of players, as well as head coaches Tyson Helton and Bob Chesney, were available to the media for one-on-one interviews.

There, Coach Helton spoke on the importance of playing in bowl games each year for the program, Coach Chesney shared his outlook on the WKU play style, and some of the Tops explained what a win on Wednesday would mean for them.

In the evening, cheer squads, marching bands, and fans from WKU and JMU came together at the Mizner Park Amphitheater to see who had the most school spirit and support.

Big Red and Duke Dog were also in attendance, dancing across the stage to showcase how their team will have the upper hand in this year’s football game.

Next up is the action that everything over the past few days has led up to, the 2024 Boca Raton Bowl.

Game time is set for a 5:30pm ET kickoff at FAU Stadium, and for those unable to make the trip to South Florida, the game will be televised on ESPN.
