Western Kentucky University hosts annual Midnight on the Hill
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Friday, students at Western Kentucky University hosted the annual Midnight on the Hill, where all proceeds go towards fighting childhood cancer.
Students had a night full of fun that benefits a great cause. The six hour event features games, karaoke, silent disco, and writing letters to St. Jude patients.
Over the last several years, Midnight on the Hill was able to raise nearly $1.3 million dollars for St Jude. The hospital specializes in adolescent cancer, blood disorders, and other life threatening diseases.
Because of community outreach programs like this, St Jude was able to push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%. Executive director Abbi Young says she is inspired by this group that pursues a cause “bigger than ourselves.”
Events have taken place leading up to tonight’s big finale. The Midnight on the Hill executive board will reveal the grand total at the end of the night.
Throughout the entire country, WKU is the top collegiate fundraiser for St Jude.
