Weekend event in Bowling Green could cause heavy traffic impact

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A weekend event at Beech Bend is expected to draw in a large amount of traffic.

Transportation officials say the impact could be seen as early as Thursday night.

Up to 50,000 people may add to the roads over the next few days. Officials say particularly on Saturday, it is recommended to avoid the U.S 31-W Louisville Road and the Bypass area, as well as the KY 185 and Garvin Lane area.

The heaviest traffic impact overall is expected Saturday. Local drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays.
