WCSO shares details of latest phone scam
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office wants to inform the public about the latest phone scam taking place.
According to a social media post by the agency on Wednesday, a caller from the number 270-336-3622 claims he is deputy Keffer and is looking for payment for a warrant for missing jury duty.
The sheriff’s office is advising they do not settle warrants through payment.
This especially includes the use of gift cards, cryptocurrency or credit card numbers.
Deputies say the scammers can spoof the sheriff’s office phone number to appear legitimate or use names of actual employees.
Do not give out your personal information to these callers.
If you have concerns about being scammed, contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 270-842-1633.
