UPDATE: Warren County Sheriff’s Office responds to fatal collision in Smiths Grove

SMITHS GROVE, Ky. – Authorities say one person is dead after a crash in Smiths Grove Tuesday.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 3:30 p.m. to a fatal collision off of the 7200 block of Smiths Grove-Scottsville Road. Upon arrival, Smiths Grove police had already begun a preliminary investigation at the scene.

Authorities say the driver of a black Chevrolet pickup truck stated he was traveling on Smiths Grove-Scottsville Road toward Smiths Grove when a gold Honda passenger car was traveling toward Scottsville. The Honda then abruptly crossed into the Chevrolet’s lane before the vehicles collided, authorities say.

Steven Kessler Brown, 28, of Franklin, Kentucky was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green by EMS for treatment.

The WCSO accident reconstruction team later arrived at the scene and completed reconstruction.
