Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducting traffic safety checkpoints on April 3

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints on Friday, April 3.
Authorities say possible locations include:
- 5000 block of Louisville Road
- 1900 block of KY Highway 185
- 4300 block of Cemetery Road
- 9200 block of Russellville Road
Deputies say studies have shown that checkpoints reduce alcohol-related collisions by about 20%. In addition, the sheriff’s office says another study shows checkpoints reduce all crashes by 10 to 15%.
Authorities say the checkpoints also are effective at enforcing driver licensing, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance laws.
Deputies say the traffic safety checkpoint will be clearly marked and identifiable, as well as visible with extra lighting. Each checkpoint is expected to take place for around three hours, authorities say.
