Warren County Sheriff’s gives out rides during winter weather

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- With winter weather approaching fast, it’s crucial that folks stay prepared. For those who may be stranded, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office will be monitoring the roads and getting people out of the cold.

Although the officers are out, they are encouraging everyone else to stay in.

“We’ve got predictions that we might have some bad road conditions,” Sheriff Brett Hightower said. “Unless people need to be out in less time, it’s an absolutely dire reason to be out. We ask that people stay at home. We always ask this, and we end up having wrecks where people, say, well, I was just out looking at the snow and that’s just, it’s not the time and place to be out.”

The sheriff’s office won’t be alone in the effort.

“Everybody, has been in meetings on this, you know, the judge executive’s office is all well aware, and we’re working with a lot of different entities,” Hightower said. “We have, just getting them plans in preparation for what might happen. We want to be as prepared as possible. ”

If you find your self stuck you are encouraged to contact the warren county sheriff’s office at the non- emergency line at 270-842-1633.
