Warren County Sheriff recovers wanted man from Seattle, Washington

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — After a wanted man escaped from a third-party prisoner transport company earlier this year, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office made the decision to handle the return themselves.

Sedric Stevenson, 29, was wanted in Warren County on two active warrants containing multiple charges. In May, he escaped custody while being transported through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

To avoid additional costs to taxpayers, Sheriff Brett Hightower and two deputies traveled to Seattle this week to personally retrieve Stevenson and bring him back to Kentucky.

According to the sheriff’s office, transporting Stevenson in-house helped save several thousand dollars in expenses.

Stevenson was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail early Wednesday morning.
