Warren County Sheriff adds new detective position to public schools

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Starting this school year, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is putting forth a new position to further ensure the safety of the public schools in the community.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office provides resource officers to Warren County Public Schools and following threats in September of 2024, Sheriff Brett Hightower decided it would be a beneficial idea to have a new “student resource detective”, an officer already in place at a school to investigate any type of crime on or off school grounds that is student related.

The officer will take up his new duties when school starts this fall.
