Warren Co. honors local law enforcement during annual police memorial celebration

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The community gathered at the Historic RailPark and Train Museum Wednesday for the Annual Police Memorial Celebration, a heartfelt event dedicated to honoring local law enforcement.

The ceremony served a dual purpose: to remember officers who have fallen in the line of duty and to recognize the men and women who continue to serve and sacrifice each day to keep the community safe.

As part of the event, city officials issued a special proclamation declaring May 4–10 as Warren County Police Officer Memorial Week. The proclamation reflects a unified effort to acknowledge the essential role officers play and the burdens they carry.

“It’s important because they often go unappreciated,” Nade said. “They go day to day not hearing the thank yous. We’re lucky—we live in a great community with great people—but it’s a tough job. They do a lot of hard stuff, and it can be overwhelming. We just want to say we appreciate what they do.”

The memorial celebration is a solemn reminder of the cost of public service and a grateful community’s commitment to never forget it.
