Walmart, Aldi lowering prices for Thanksgiving dinner to fight inflation
(WNKY) – Two large grocery chains have announced they’re working to make Thanksgiving dinner more accessible for families this year.
In a release on Walmart’s website, the company announced Wednesday it plans on “removing inflation” starting Nov. 1 “to offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal on customers’ favorite brands at an even lower price than last year.” Walmart will offer two Thanksgiving meal options, which include a meal for customers who prefer to cook from scratch and one for those that prefer read-to-bake options, according to the release.
The chain says products with lower prices will include in-stock turkeys, hams and all of the traditional sides through Dec. 26, 2023.
Aldi is also adding to the savings, announcing Wednesday that it will have prices reduced up to 50% on over 70 items in the store.
The deals will include prices on gravy, potatoes, green beans, cranberries and pumpkin pie, along with staples like flour and butter, the release says.
Aldi says its reduced prices will begin Nov.1 and last through the holiday season.
