Walk to End Alzheimer’s hosted at Bowling Green Ballpark
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This weekend, hundreds flocked to Bowling Green Ballpark, hitting the concourse to raise money for a good cause.
The event was originally meant to be held on Sept. 28 of this year but was postponed due to severe weather threats that were predicted for the weekend.
Thankfully through, that didn’t stop so many from participating in this year’s walk.
One event organizer tells us why this event returning to Bowling Green means so much to them.
Walk manager Danita Reiger-Ward says, “We all seem to have a why. It is so very prevalent. It’s not far to see your why. Whether it is our friend that is raising up their family while taking care of their mother with Alzheimer’s or dementia. So if it isn’t impacting your family now, we often add the caveat of yet it isn’t affecting your family yet. So I have many friends and family, that have either been diagnosed or I have friends that are in the caregiver role right now.”
The fight against Alzheimer’s doesn’t just stop because the run is over.
