Vaccination appointments available this weekend in CDS #10 and church partnerships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- CDS #10 has partnered with State Street Baptist Church and Eleventh Street Baptist Church to give out 300 COVID-19 vaccines this Saturday at both church locations.

“If you haven’t gotten a shot yet, this is your opportunity to do it,” said Carl Whitfield, pastor at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church.

CDS #10 had partnered with State Street Baptist Church a couple of weeks ago for a pop up clinic for the Housing Authority. But at that clinic they only gave out 20 vaccines.

“It’s fantastic. I don’t know how they did it, but I’m glad they did it and that the resources are there for them to get that much and I just hope we can get plenty more so we can get people vaccinated,” said Reggie Jackson, deacon at State Street Baptist Church.

Darren Lacefield, owner of CDS #10 says they were able to do this because the supply of vaccines has increased.

“You know it’s a relief. Because so long the supply wasn’t there for the vaccine. So just to finally get it and be able to help is very exciting,” said Lacefield.

Lacefield says why they specifically chose these two churches to partner with.

“We felt like this was an area that wasn’t being reached by the other clinics. So it immediately stood out as a place we wanted to go first,” said Lacefield.
