US Senate Candidate Daniel Cameron holds meet & greet in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Former Attorney General and current candidate for US Senate Daniel Cameron stopped by Scottsville Monday afternoon to talk with supporters about his campaign and the issues they’re seeing locally.

“The folks in Scottsville and Allen County matter. The folks of the surrounding communities matter, and I hope I’ve made that clear in the amount of time I spent in these neck of the woods in the region, and I’m going to continue to come here and ensure that people have an opportunity as, you know, they did ask me questions and hear from me as well… so I’m just grateful,” Cameron says.

At local favorite Earl G Dumplins, Cameron says throughout his campaign trail, there are a few things he’s heard that are the main concerns of Kentuckians.

“Affordability, health care, security in our neighborhoods, in our communities. Those are the big-ticket items that I hear people talk about a lot is they want to be able to put money in their pocket, keep money in their pocket to ensure that they’re able to put food on the table and buy groceries and gas… and with a little left over, pay for summer leagues that their kids are involved in, and make sure that they’re able to be covered if there’s some medical event that occurs and ensuring that they’re safe in their community,” Cameron says.

He says he wants to fight for those who believe in preserving Kentucky for future generations.

“That’s why I want to advocate for lower taxes. I want to advocate for coal and natural gas in our farming communities… because part of putting food on the table is our farming community helps with that… and part of putting food on the table is making sure people have lower taxes and that we get inflation under control. That’s why I want to go to Washington to help on that front, and to stand up for our values. I think, folks, I’ve got a track record of having done that… and I’m going to continue to fight, fight for that in Washington,” Cameron says.

With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, he is grateful to all who came out days before the holiday to support him.

“My heart is just overwhelmed with gratitude for the people that came out today. It’s the holiday season, and so folks could be anywhere right now… but they chose to spend a little more than an hour with me, and I’m thankful for that. Very thankful,” Cameron says.
