UPDATE: Suspect in Morgantown Road shooting death in custody

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a homicide investigation off of Morgantown Road.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, 37-year-old Quinton “Q” LaShawn Hampton was wanted on a warrant for the murder of 30-year-old Darrius Wickware of Bowling Green. Hampton was located on Memphis Junction Road in Bowling green, police say.

Wickware died after police say he sustained gunshot wounds in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 30 at Brookwood Mobile Home Park on Morgantown Road.

Authorities say they are still clearing the residence on Memphis Junction Road and will provide an update if further details develop.

Bowling Green police were assisted on scene by the Kentucky State Police and the Warren County Drug Task Force.
