UPDATE: Man arrested following shooting in Barren County

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Further details have been released after a weekend shooting in Barren County.
According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Kevin Abner, 59, of Glasgow following a shooting on Park City Glasgow Road on Sunday.
Authorities say Abner told investigators he went to the residence after being told his daughter was potentially being held there against her will.
Deputies say a brief verbal argument happened before Abner took out a shotgun and fired two rounds, injuring Shane Wheat, 32, and Shane Wheat’s brother, Anthony Wheat, 42.
Both were flown from T.J. Samson Community Hospital due to their injuries.
At this time, deputies say Anthony Wheat was listed in stable condition on Monday morning, while Shane Wheat is listed in critical condition.
Abner was located down the road from the scene and taken into custody.
Authorities say Abner’s daughter told them she was not being held against her will and could leave at any time.
Abner faces charges of first-degree assault and second-degree assault. He remains at the Barren County Detention Center with no bond.
