UPDATE: BGMU restores outage affecting nearly 5,000 in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Municipal Utilities says all power has been restored from a power outage that caused roughly 5,000 customers within Bowling Green to lose power Monday evening.

BGMU stated in an update at 7:30 p.m. that attempts to close the transmission breaker were not successful, so crews switched in the field and picked up load from other stations.

The initial outage at the Cabell Substation was reported on BGMU’s Facebook page around 6 p.m.
