Update: Bevin to recognize fallen Korean War soldier with ties to Bowling Green

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin announced Wednesday he will recognize a solider from Kentucky, whose remains are in the process of being returned to his family in Bowling Green.

Private First Class Joe Stanton Elmore died on December 2, 1950 in North Korea. His family just found out last month that his remains were positively identified.

Service arrangements for the solider are not yet complete. The governor announced Wednesday he will order flags at half-staff in honor of Elmore on the date of his interment, and encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in the tribute.
