Units respond after vehicle hits utility pole in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Units responded for a collision Friday afternoon at the corner of Rigelwood Lane and Brookwood Drive.

News 40 headed out to to the scene, where it was discovered a car had left the road, run into a private home’s fence, struck a utility pole and stopped after running through a chain link fence at the nearby Warren County Public Schools bus garage.

According to Barren River Fire Department, who was returning to their station on Brookwood Drive, the vehicle attempted to pass their engine as it was returning from another accident. Deputy chief Brad Frogge said the engine’s emergency lights were on.

Frogge said in an interview with News 40 that the road is curvy and narrow, and with heavy vehicles coming through the area paired with the residential traffic, driving slowly is very important in that area.

News 40 spoke to some residents who were outside, who said they are concerned accidents may become more frequent as the 500 home subdivision further down Brookwood Drive continues to be constructed.
