Two local men turn 100 years old!

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-  Not many people live to see 100 years old.

But two people in Bowling green celebrated their 100th birthday on the same day!

Jack Finkbone is a resident at Village Manor and they threw him a birthday party with family and friends.

“Well it’s just something that I guess I have dreamed about that most people don’t ever get to this age. And I’m just so excited and I think it’s wonderful that so many people are showing up for his birthday,” said his wife Freda Finkbone.

Jack and 96-year-old Freda have been married for 71 years.

“He’s just as good inside as he is outside and we balance each other,” said Finkbone.

Across town another man Hayward Minton turns 100, and News 40 asked him how it feels to turn a century old.

“Well just like it felt yesterday,” said Minton.

The Kiwanis Club threw him a surprise party at his house. He’s been a member of the club for 62 years.

“Well listen, it’s just like I’m their older brother,” said Minton.

Minton is a Veteran and has lived in Warren County since he was 14 years old. He’s lived an amazing life.

“You wouldn’t believe it. I could write 100 stories about things that happened to me,” said Minton.

And fun fact he still drives himself everywhere he goes.

“Nowhere I won’t go. I drive better than I walk,” said Minton.

Happy birthday to both of these incredible men!
