Two indicted on criminal abuse charges involving minors in Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ky. – A Hart County woman and man are facing charges related to criminal abuse of children under 12.

According to an indictment, Makayla L. Price, 26, of Bonnieville is charged with three counts of second-degree criminal abuse.

The indictment states between Jan. 1 and April 17, Price caused “serious physical injury” to three different children under the age of 12 .

A separate indictment states that Logan T. Biggerstaff, 27, of Summer Shade is charged with first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12 years of age), three counts of second-degree criminal abuse and abandonment of a minor.

According to the indictment, between Jan. 1 and April 17, Biggerstaff “subjected a person to sexual contact who is incapable of consent” due to the victim being under 12 years of age. In addition, the indictment states Biggerstaff caused “serious physical injury” between these dates to three different children under 12 years of age and left one child outside while he left the residence to go to a store.

Price was arrested on Nov. 7 and has since been released from the Hart County Jail.

Biggerstaff was arrested the same date and remains at the Hart County Jail.
