Congress forced to evacuate after violent protesters storm the U.S. Capitol, disrupting the certification of President-elect Joe Biden's electoral college victory. NBC's Susan McGinnis reports.

(NBC News) — Hundreds of protesters stormed the U.S Capitol Wednesday, demanding Congress overturn the election of Joe Biden and keep President Trump in power.

The breach forced members of Congress to pause their count of electoral college votes and evacuate.

The chaos came shortly after a group of Trump loyalists slowed the process by objecting to President-elect Biden’s win in a series of battleground states, beginning with Arizona.

Those same Republicans are pushing baseless claims of election fraud, even after being soundly defeated in a series of recounts and lawsuits.
