Tri-Five Nationals kick off at Beech Bend Raceway; over 3,000 Chevy’s expected

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Chevys are rolling into the Beech Bend Raceway from around the country for the 6th Annual Danhuck Tri-Five Nationals.

Event coordinators expect over 3,000 Chevy’s to attend this event where Tri-Fives from across the country gather once a year.

This event will have drag racing, a car show, a car give away, vendors, swap meets, awards and so much more starting Thursday August 11th, and running through Saturday the 14th.

One father-son-duo has attended this event time and time again along with others like it over the last 30 years.

“It’s one of the best shows we go to. We enjoyed every year. There’s new cars, new people from all over the United States show up,” said father Mike Goldman.

Mike and his son Talbert Goldman own Mike Goldman Customs, and they debut their newly built, cut, grinded, painted, sanded and crafted cars here at the Tri-five each year. It all started three decades ago with a wide-eyed toddler who learned about the beauty of engines from his old man.

“Dad always said if there was a tool missing it was in the sandbox or out in the yard, one or the other,” said Talbert Goldman. “He’s the one I learned everything I own from. He’s who I’m going to try to follow.”

His father said, “He grew up into it, Talbert did. He grew up going to car shows in the backseat of these cars, traveling. It was just an awesome event. An awesome time. And, as time grew, it just evolved into a business.”

For the two of them, as well as more than 3,000 Chevy owners and 20,000 spectators, this event is more than just a car show, it’s a way of life.

“It starts off as a hobby, but that’s before the 32 years we’re counting,” said Mike Goldman.
