Tree giveaway and planting gives back to community at Reservoir Hill Park

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local organizations found a way to give back to the community with a lasting impact.

This morning, Operation PRIDE collaborated with the Landmark Association and State Farm to host a tree planting and giveaway.

The Arbor Day Foundation worked with State Farm to help sponsor the event.

The giveaway and planting took place at Reservoir Hill Park, bringing several benefits to the local area.

Abby Graves, a claims section manager at State Farm Insurance, says, “It is additional health benefits that trees bring, the beautification of a park, remedying from a natural disaster. And that is really what’s important to State Farm, giving back to the community in ways that are going to benefit, not just now, but years to come.”

Graves says people lined up, and all of the trees were gone within an hour.

Multiple volunteers helped make the giveaway possible.

News 40 will continue to follow efforts to beautify the local community.
