Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Portland

PORTLAND, Tenn. – The Portland Police Department (PPD) arrested an individual on drug charges following a traffic stop.
According to PPD, officers observed a vehicle weaving and crossing a fog line and conducted a traffic safety stop on Sunday.
Officers say the driver possessed a pouch containing approximately 5.43 grams of suspected methamphetamine packaged in multiple baggies, drug paraphernalia, ten Suboxone packets, and $606 in cash. The cash is suspected to be proceeds from the sale of narcotics, according to police.
Officers arrested the driver, who is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, simple possession (schedule iii) and failure to maintain lane.
The suspect is not identified in the post.
The investigation is ongoing.
