Traffic advisory issued after tractor-trailer fire in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – Laurel County agencies worked a tractor-trailer fire Tuesday morning.
At 9:40 a.m., the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says sheriff John Root is reporting a traffic advisory on Interstate 75 in Laurel County.
Deputies say the tractor-trailer fire occurred earlier this morning at mile marker 33. According to the Laurel County Fire Department, firefighters arrived to a fully involved fire and disconnected the trailer.
The fire has been extinguished, officials say.
Traffic southbound has been routed into one lane while cleanup is ongoing.
Deputies report traffic is backed up over five miles due to the cleanup effort. It is expected to be rerouted into one lane for the next couple of hours.
Drivers should remain aware and seek alternate routes southbound through Laurel County.
