FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Trader Joe’s distribution facility is coming to Simpson County.

Simpson County judge-executive Mason Barnes says Trader Joe’s will locate the distribution and assembly center in the Stone-Givens Industrial Park and will be the only one of its type in the U.S.

The project will use about 160 acres for construction, according to Barnes.

“One thing that certainly makes a community the type of place where you are able to raise a family and thrive is having adequate opportunities for employment. We have been blessed to have a strong industrial base in Simpson County for a very long time,” Barnes said.

Trader Joe’s will invest more than $260 million, constructing three buildings that will total 1 million square feet.

Barnes says the investment is the largest so far for the county when considering size, dollars invested and employment.

The finished center will bring around 900 full-time jobs, according to Barnes.
