Top lawmaker talks of ending Kentucky session next week

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A top Kentucky lawmaker has set out a potential legislative timetable amid the coronavirus outbreak. Senate President Robert Stivers laid out a plan to pass priority bills as quickly as possible with a goal of ending this year’s session next week. Stivers made the comments Tuesday in a Senate floor speech. Lawmakers reconvened Tuesday for the first time since last Thursday. The biggest job for lawmakers is to finish work on a two-year state budget.
