Thousands of cake mix boxes drop for upcoming Duncan Hines Days

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Duncan Hines Days is quickly approaching. On Tuesday, a special delivery came straight to Bowling Green.

You might know Duncan Hines best for his line of all things baked goods. What you may not know is that Hines was a Bowling Green native.

Hines was best known for his love for community and his giving spirit. His legacy is still celebrated today.

With the help of Conagra Brands and Houchens Food Group, a delivery of over 6,000 cases of cake mixes and frostings were delivered to Bowling Green Tuesday, May 20.

This year’s batch is quite the sweet treat. Business and locals will receive a free Dolly Parton cake mix and icing while supplies last. The legend partnered with Duncan Hines yearly three years ago to form her own line of baked goods.

Telia Butler, downtown development coordinator with Bowling Green, says the upcoming festivities wants to provide “a seat for everyone at what we call the community table.” Butler believes the city’s celebration honors Hines’ passion for “food, drink, entertainment and adventure.”

Butler says the 2025 Duncan Hines Days will feature some fun Dolly Parton themed events as well as other activities throughout the week.
