Thousands join Facebook page created after toddler’s death

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – A community is coming together in person and online in remembrance of a little boy tragically killed in Edmonson County.

Officials say, 20-month-old Carson McCullough died after his mother, Alexandra Richardson, drove around a barricade and into high water.

Richardson now faces a number of charges, including murder.

A Facebook page, “Justice for Carson – Edmonson County KY,” has gained thousands of members after the woman who created it said she heard about the child’s death and became furious over what Richardson is accused of doing.

The page administrator, Monica Meredith, has a two-year-old son and said she created the page because the situation really hit home.

Meredith wants the page to bring good to the local community and hopes every member will gather together to support Isaiah Richardson, the 7-year-old who was also in the car with his mother when it went into the water.

“I just personally think that everybody still needs to still be respectful. It’s never going to be OK, at all. But we do still have to keep her family, keep them in our thoughts, prayers, whatever you believe in,” Meredith said.

A candlelight vigil for the toddler is in the works.
